We Are But Tiny Guests Here

The ocean stretched far beyond what the eye could hold — powerful, constant, alive. I stood at its edge and felt small — yet somehow completely seen.

This work grew from that moment of humility — from realizing how brief our time here is, and how immense the home that holds us. We move across it like visitors, leaving traces far larger than we understand. With that comes a responsibility for how we walk.

And I stood there, caught between gratitude and disbelief — unable to understand how, surrounded by so much beauty, we still choose to destroy, to build where we could protect, to fight where we could live in peace. And while these thoughts circled in my mind, the ocean went on — rising, falling, steady as ever. Maybe that’s how it was always meant to be? Maybe nature was never ours to fix or to break?
