About the artwork
This piece is about choosing solitude over what hurts — and realizing that staying where you can’t breathe is far lonelier than being truly alone. Inspired by that moment, the island became a metaphor for a place that feels empty at first, yet safer and more honest than what was left behind. The terracotta accent marks that island — a symbol of choosing yourself, learning to sit with your own rhythm, and trusting that reconnection will come in its own time.
